Juelz Santana Reportedly Surrenders To Authorities

This isn't the rapper's first run-in with the law.

The 36-year-old entertainer, whose real name is LaRon James, appeared at the Port Authority Newark Airport police facility at 1 a.m., officials said. If charged with a crime for Friday night's incident, he faces a civil penalty and a fine of up to $13,000.

Just like that, rapper Juelz Santana has left the building.

And in 2011, a search of his Bergenfield recording studio turned up two loaded 9mm handguns and 17 bags of suspected marijuana.

The criminal complaint said James, who was scheduled to leave for a flight to San Francisco at 6:25 p.m., "paced the area nervously and requested that several individuals screen his bag expeditiously because he was going to miss his flight". Then again, Santana is hard pressed to forget his prior felony conviction, which outlaws him from carrying a weapon, much less aboard a flight.

The Transportation Security Administration said in an email that one of its officers "froze the bag safely inside the X-Ray tunnel" after spotting the gun during routine screening.

Rapper Juelz Santana is planning to turn himself in Sunday after fleeing Newark Airport on Friday when TSA agents found a gun on him at security, according to police.

On Friday evening, Santana fled the airport and may have gotten into a taxi after TSA found a loaded.38-caliber handgun in his bag.
